Jared Osterhold is, without question, among the most talented visual artists in New Orleans. You may not recognize his name, but you’ve seen his work all over the city and in bookstores the world over.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jared graduated from Brother Martin High School and earned a B.A. in Visual Arts from Loyola University New Orleans. He began working in the Mardi Gras business in high school, painting floats and sculpting props. After college, Jared designed and sculpted installations for Barth Brothers Artists, including major works for the Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas, and Harrah’s Casino. Subsequently, Jared expanded his oeuvre to include commercial, editorial and children’s literature illustration. His work includes many titles published by major publishers, including over twenty books in the renowned “Olivia” series of children’s books.
Jared currently focuses on creating New Orleans-themed fine art and sculpture for Osterhold Boudreaux Gallery & Studio, and live-painting 3-hour masterpieces during weddings and events.
